Right click on the start menu and select control panel. In the category select small icons.
Select View all on the top left corner. Click on Hardware and Devices. Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter. Follow the steps given here to uninstall the USB Drivers.
Click OK to remove the driver. Did this solve your problem? Sorry this didn't help. I recently purchased a laptop with Windows 10 64 bit. I cannot connect either of my printers. Canon mf, and Canon mfdn. It just shouldn't be this hard! I'm not an IT professional, but, I've installed many printers through the years on various operating systems windows 95, XP, Windows 7, etc.
It appears that Canon has not made a 64 bit driver for the mf So, I'm trying to troubleshoot the mf instead. I've found the correct driver and downloaded it. But, still I'm getting error messages that it can't find the printer. I would appreciate any help! I'm hoping that Deepak Kodi or another Microsoft person will respond.
I got my printer up and running. Thanks for your help. However, my scanner still isn't working. I called Canon tech support. I went through their support protocol. We reinstalled the driver. We tried to stop and restart it.
However, it got hung up and froze. I was able to scan one document. However, when I tried again, I got the same issue. I tried again to restart the WIA, but it again froze. What do I do? I suggest you to Stop the Windows Image Acquisition service, restart the computer and then set it as Automatic from the services and check if it helps to resolve the issue.
Right click on Windows Image Acquisition from the list. Restart the computer and repeat the first three steps. Click on Properties and set the set Startup type to Automatic. Click on Apply and Ok. Hope this information is helpful. However, in my previous comments I mentioned that the Canon Tech support rep asked me to do the same thing you are suggesting, i.
The problem is that the WIA cannot be stopped, or started. The current status is "stopping". That is the problem. When I reboot the computer, it works very briefly. When I try to restart it again. It, again freezes with the status at "stopping". Surely I'm not the only person with this problem. Did you try setting the startup of the service as Automatic as I suggest above?
In case, you have not done so, please try setting it as Automatic and check if it helps. Please get back to us with the above details so that we can assist you further.
It is already set at automatic. That's the way it was previously set. What is causing it to get hung up and stop working? This is a WIA issue, not a scanner issue. Upon the upgrade my printer no longer worked. Canon says they aren't making a driver for the IPd printer along with a whole list of other printers. I so far have not been able to find a driver that does work I n windows I am not going to scrap a perfectly good printer, I will go back to windows 7 before I do that. GypsyMorrison1 Replied on January 28, In reply to TimothyMiller1's post on December 13, Click Cortana and type "Control Panel". Click control panel from the list. Once there, in the upper right change the list to "large icons".
It should now look like what you are used to from earlier versions of windows. Go to "Devises and printers". Click add a printer. Choose "my device isn't in the list" it's ad the bottom of the windows, a text link. Choose "my device is a little bit older" from the options.

I informed previously that it is an inkjet printer, and the quality it provides to me it is very excellent, it is not such as laser printer hard copy quality, however it is truly great for homeusers like me. When we utilized the Original Cartridges from Canon , the outcome is great. This printer likewise assist me to print duplex. Other functions, such as picking printing quality likewise assist me when I printing photo. Due to the fact that the price is economical and inexpensive, the function is not truly full, such as the duplex needs to be done. The cartridges with typical use will certainly run out in months.
